I wasn't supposed to be here today. I actually had grand plans to walk into Addacome Hole and over some of the fells around Causey Pike, but the forecast was for rain, cloud and wind. So that was the end of that walk for the time being. As has been the case many many times over the years, postponing a walk for a better day often turns out to be the best move. The fells are going nowhere but the rain, cloud and wind usually do.
Left with no specific plans in mind I had an invite last night to join Paul on two of his outlying fell walks so I jumped at the chance. The first of the two walks was up Dunmallard Hill on the very edge of Pooley Bridge. Much to my own amazement never mind anyone else's, this is the first time I've walked up here - I really don't know why this is the case.
