Roadside, Cold Fell (Blakeley Moss)
Stretching six miles between Calder Bridge and Ennerdale Bridge, Cold Fell acts as a convenient shortcut across the western most section of the Lake District. There are lots of possible parking places across the Ennerdale half of the route; each one offering its own access onto the fantastically remote fells across this edge of the Lakes.

Just a short evening walk today onto Grike and Crag Fell. The nights are drawing in and as it was nice and sunny (when we set off), it seemed a shame not to get out for a walk. It won't be long until this years evening walks come to an end.

Looking ahead to Grike.

And from Grike summit, we had a lovely view all the way to Pillar its neighbors.

Crag Fell seen from Grike.

Crag Fell view - - - doesn't get much better than this !!!

Back on the forest track for the return journey and for the time being, the evening light was lovely.

And to finish, Whoap and Lank Rigg. Sadly, a few minutes after taking this it clouded over, never mind, it's still good to be up here.
