Roadside parking, Loweswater (waterend)

Assuming that everyone parks properly, there is room for quite a few cars along here. This is my prefered starting point for a circuit of Loweswater or a walk onto the Fellbarrow / Low Fell ridge.

With the prospect of a sunny evening I thought it a shame not get out for a walk. So, about 15 minutes before finishing work I rang home and suggested a walk up Dent (or Dint as we call it locally). As it turned out, Jennifer had already been walking today and didn't want to go on a second walk that took her "up" anywhere. Suggestion 'B' was a walk around Loweswater and although the sunshine didn't last for the duration, it was still an enjoyable way to spend an evening.

A view down Loweswater to Grasmoor, Whiteless Pike, Robinson, Rannerdale Knotts and Mellbreak.

Darling Fell seen from Hudson Place Farm.

Just down from Hudson Place you pass this vantage spot for a picture looking across Loweswater towards Grasmoor.

Another picture showing Darling Fell, this one was taken from the path down to the lake.

Sunshine in Holme Wood.

"I wonder if there's anyone in"   "Why don't you knock on the door to find out"

The residents of the Bothy were getting ready for an evening of fishing. If they were trying to catch their supper, they must have been hungry if the amount of kit they had was anything to go by.

And once we got out of the woods, the sunshine had gone and cloud was quickly spreading across the sky.

A view back down the lonnin to Carling Knott.

Mellbreak, standing proud beyond the fields and woods. The fell in the centre of the picture that looks like a baby Mellbreak is Rannerdale Knotts.

Far too busy eating to care whether I'm taking it's photo or not.

Carling Knott seen above Loweswater and Watergate Farm.

Mellbreak and Hen Comb.

Almost back at the car now and that was much better than sitting in the house watching TV or what ever else I;d have done on a weekday evening.
