Roadside parking, Loweswater (waterend)

Assuming that everyone parks properly, there is room for quite a few cars along here. This is my prefered starting point for a circuit of Loweswater or a walk onto the Fellbarrow / Low Fell ridge.

More and more wet and windy weather works its way across the country and I'm fed up after sitting in the house all day yesterday and this morning. Jennifer was obviously fed up with me saying I was fed up so she suggested I go for a short walk around Loweswater. I actually managed to get right round without any rain at all but it was really windy. Far too strong to be up on the fells.

"Come on road hog, pullover and let people past"

Darling Fell and Loweswater.

Loweswater seen from the track below Hudson Place farm.

I was surprised to see so many people about today. A few family groups, a couple of couples and someone on their own (twice).

and now from the side of lake itself.

Darling Fell.

Holme Wood.

I did knock on the door but there was no one in.

A seat with a view.

They must be expecting a high tide.

Hen Comb is up there in among all that cloud.

A view back along the track to Watergate Farm.

The road to Maggie's Bridge. Actually it was the road from Maggie's Bridge for me today. Whichever direction you're walking in, it's down there.

I'm on t'other side of the lake now and here you can see, or in today's case, here you can't see Carling Knott.

You can't see Mellbreak or Hen Comb either.

Almost back at the car now and that was certainly better than sitting in the house.
