Assuming that everyone parks properly, there is room for quite a few cars along here. This is my prefered starting point for a circuit of Loweswater or a walk onto the Fellbarrow / Low Fell ridge.

Route Map

I wasn't hobbling about quite as much as I was last week, but I still wasn't sure if I should do anything too demanding, so I opted for a short walk around Loweswater this afternoon; just to see how it went.
I took this picture looking over Loweswater towards Mellbreak from the wet area found between the road and Hudson Place.

Darling Fell and the northern end of Loweswater.

Heading down the lonning from Hudson Place to the lake.

Darling Fell seen on the opposite side of the lake.

Stating the obvious perhaps, but the last couple of weeks really have brought a much greener look to the countryside.

Perhaps I was a little early to see the blue bells at their best, but it was still a lovely walk through Holme Wood this afternoon.

Looking down Loweswater to Grasmoor and Mellbreak.

Depending which path you follow through the woods you'll pass by this little bothy.

"Come in number 7 your time is up".

Back into the open now with a view across to Darling Fell and Low Fell.

A long distance shot of Grasmoor.

And not so long distance.

Low Fell, Loweswater and the track leading to Maggie's Bridge.

Whiteside and Grasmoor.

A close up of Mellbreak.

Mellbreak and Hen Comb.

The lake shore footpath found just below the main road.

Perfect timing; getting back to the car just as the cloud started to build up.
