Car park, Keswick

There are so many car parks and so many roadside options in Keswick I've grouped them all together into one. To state the obvious, the car parks all charge and the roadside parking is rather a hit and miss affair.

Route Map

A grey day in Keswick.

Passing by the River Greta as we were leaving Keswick.

Crossing the bride over the A66.

It was difficult to tell what the weather was going to do today. When we set out from home we'd intended to go somewhere totally different from this, but It was dull, the cloud was low, it rained a little while we were in the car, so we decided to have a walk up Latrigg instead.

Looking down from the path across to Latrigg summit.

Keswick seen between the clouds.

A popular spot today.

As we were walking across from the summit the cloud rolled in to wipe out the view.

That's better.

It looked as though we'd end up having a dry walk after all. So, rather than head straight along the old railway path, we headed up past Wescoe, almost as far as Threlkeld and then onto the railway path.

Wescoe with Lonscale Fell behind.

Onto the old railway path now; a route I always enjoy.

Time for lunch.

Under the A66 road bridge. Possibly one of the ugliest structures in the Lake District.
