Roadside parking, Greendale hamlet, Wasdale

This isn't really a car park as such, it just seems to have been adopted as one because of its closeness to the trio of fells around Greendale Tarn.

Parking is free and I've never failed to get a space here.

Heading out from the little hamlet of Greendale for a short walk up Middle Fell and Greendale Tarn.

Looking down to Geendale.

The view across to Seatallan showing the cloud starting to drop a little.

A brief spell of sunshine passing across the fields.

The cloud rolled in for a minute or two while as I was at the summit, but patients paid off and hung around until I managed to get a view down to the end of Wast Water.

Looking back across to the summit.

Haycock is across there in the cloud.

It was a little brighter when I reached Greendale Tarn.

It was so wet under foot at this end of Greendale Tarn. So I was pleased I'd took a route around the drier side of the tarn instead of the normal path through the grassy area below the Seatallan side.

Just past the tarn and looking back along a still quite narrow Greendale Gill.

Further down the gill I passed quite a few very small, but quite nice little waterfalls.

Back down at Greendale Hamlet.
