Car park, Keswick

There are so many car parks and so many roadside options in Keswick I've grouped them all together into one. To state the obvious, the car parks all charge and the roadside parking is rather a hit and miss affair.

Springs Wood.
This was another day of low cloud and drizzle, but despite of this I still wanted to get out and catch the last of the Autumn colours before they were finished. Great Wood in Borrowdale always provides a good show at this time of year so I thought I'd combine a walk through the woods with a walk up Walla Crag.

Rakefoot farm and Brockle Beck from the start of the climb up to Walla Crag.
A wall starts from about this point and continues to within a couple of yards from the summit. This makes it a very easy route to follow even in poor visibility like today.

Walla Crag summit.

Looking up to Low Moss from one of the small streams that cross the path between Walla Crag and Cat Gill.

Ashness Bridge, not looking its best, but there were still a few people taking pictures.

Looking across Derwent Water towards Cat Bells.
