Visiting the Lake District Tarns - A walking theme for 2015

Visiting the Lake District Tarns - An overview

The important bit (AKA read this carefully):
1) This is not a challenge to visit every tarn in 1 year
2) I will not be doing any daft walks just to cram them in
3) All I intend to do is make 2015 a year with tarns as its main theme
4) I will not be publishing a list of tarns / walks in advance
5) Other, none tarn walks will also be done throughout the year

How I planned the project:
1) I made a list of tarns
2) I grouped them into possible walks
3) I ended up with a list of walks taking me to 1 or more tarns each

The plan of action:
S
tart going for walks in January and try to include these walks as often as possible throughout the year. On 31st December I'll have a list of tarns that I've visited in 2015.

Which tarns should I include?
Ah, I thought you'd ask that. At the end of the day it's just going for a walk, it's supposed to be fun and I don't think it needs to be complicated. For me, , , , if I had to start analysing this too much by trying to decide what is or is not a tarn then I'd be doing it for the wrong reasons. This is why I'm not putting a list of tarns on here prior to visiting them. When it becomes apparent to you how many, and which tarns I've included I think you may be pleasantly surprised.

Do I have to dip a toe in all the tarns?
Don't be daft. Walking alongside a tarn or even fairly close to it counts as a visit in my book.

Keeping a track of things:
Below you'll find a simple counter showing the number of walks I've done, the number of tarns
I've visited and the distance I've walked as the project progresses.
