The number of times I get onto Robinson doesn't really match the enjoyment I get when I'm actually there. This is a shame to be honest because there are so many good routes to this fell and it deserves more attention than it gets from me.
You can get to the top from lots of different directions, and could quite easily do half a dozen different walks before you ever needed to repeat one of them. My favourite of which is the long walk from Cat Bells around to Dale Head and then along the ridge. This one really is a good day on the fells. My preferred route just to get to the top however, is the steep route up from Hassness on the Buttermere side.
One thing to point out up here is Buttermere Moss; the flattish area to the west of the summit. Two routes run through this area and if you find yourself here after periods of rain, be prepared for a wet experience.
