Route suggestions

Route suggestion: Brackenclose - Lingmell Gill - Southwest Ridge - Lingmell
2.2 mile / approx 2400 ft ascent
++++++++++++++++++++
This route takes the direct approach and runs up the very steep southwest ridge. The path may be steep, but this is the only obstacle on the bottom section of the route. There are no rocks or crags and very little in the way of scree.

Route suggestion: Brackenclose - Lingmell Gill - Brown Tongue - Hollow Stones - Lingmell Col - Lingmell
2.5 mile / approx 2500 ft ascent
++++++++++++++++++++
Most of this route coincides with one of the busy highways to Scafell Pike where you are almost guaranteed to be accompanied by lots of other people. Then, when you turn up from Lingmell Col to reach the summit, you may well find you're the only person up there.
After periods of heavy rain, crossing Lingmell Gill could be quite difficult.

Route suggestion: Wasdale Head - Lingmell Beck - Piers Gill - Lingmell Col - Lingmell
3.3 mile / approx 2400 ft ascent
++++++++++++++++++++
This is a great route up Lingmell but you should know in advance that there is section alongside Piers Gill which has a difficult rocky wall that you will need to clamber up. It offers little in the way of difficulty to those who are used to using hands as well as feet. But those who only wish to 'walk' would be advised to take a different route.
