The first time I walked on Barrow I quickly realised this was going to be a good fell to get to know and I've had no reason since then to change my mind. This is a somewhere you can easily nip up and down if it's a short walk you're after or better still, it could be included on a full days walking on fells going as far as Grasmoor or even Grisedale Pike.
To the south and the west, the views are still good but restricted to seeing other fells. To the north and the east however, you find long distance views to the northern fells, the eastern fells, and even as far as the Pennines. At closer quarters you'll be treated to a gorgeous view of Derwent Water and Keswick.
