Branstree Tarn

Map

Although these two pools remain unnamed on the map, Branstree Tarn is as good a name as they're ever going to get. They are found in a wonderful area lonely moorland southeast of Haweswater, almost mid way between Branstree and Selside Pike. Even on the busiest of Lake District days, this is somewhere you may still be lucky enough to find a little solitude.

The most striking feature here isn't the tarns though, it's the old survey pillar left over from the building of the Haweswater Dam.
